A new name for the same journey
. . . and a little bit more "me"
I’m rebranding this newsletter from Clarity in Chaos to Bootstrap/Recursion.
The old name was a placeholder—something I tried on before I really knew my own style. It sounded nice but lacked depth.
Bootstrap/Recursion better captures what I’m actually exploring here and reflects a subtle but important shift in how I’m thinking: less about “clarity” and more about exploring to build resilience and find meaning in the coming era of AI disruption.
Bootstrap is about starting from nothing. I’ve always been fascinated by this idea that out of nothing there can be something—the Big Bang, alternate universes, Being-in-and-of-itself-for-its-own-self. It’s that moment of pure creation—for us mere mortals, creating something from scratch with only what’s in front of you.
Recursion is the self-referential loop that comes next. Once you’ve started, how do you build systems that improve themselves? How do you create momentum through constant iteration, where each cycle feeds back into the next and compounds over time?
Together, they describe the process I’m most interested in: starting from scratch and building something that sustains and improves itself through deliberate, self-referencing practice.
Thanks for being here.
